What Is It?
The low-carb diet phenomenon continues to be wildly popular largely paved by the South Beach Diet plan. The South Beach Diet was designed by a doctor and consists of a high protein/low-carb weight loss plan.

The diet is split into 3 phases and becomes less restrictive as you progress. The initial phase is definitely the most restrictive as the diet plan eliminates all carbs with the exception of some vegetables. Everything you eat during this first phase will consists of lean meats, veggies, eggs, and other high protein foods.

Types Of Food
Phase I- with the South Beach Diet, you eat 3 well-balanced meals and occasional snacks which include lean meats, fish, eggs, low-fat cheese, and fresh vegetables. Some people lose over 10 lbs during Phase I of the South Beach Diet.

Phase II – you begin to eat fruits, wheat bread, and foods with carbohydrates. For Phase II, while you can now eat more carbs you are limited to one carb meal per day.

Phase III – you’ve reached Phase III once you’ve accomplished your weight loss goals. This phase is essentially the maintenance phase so that you don’t gain your weight back. The maintenance phase includes a wider variety of foods and recipes that you can choose from.

This diet was tough for me. First phase is especially challenging. Hard to maintain the weight loss also in my opinion. Works well for quick weight loss but u hreally have to work hard @ keeping it off.

Good news and bad news. The goods news is that I lost nearly 20 pounds aftrer deciding to go on the South Beach Diet as part of my New Year’s resolution. It actually didn’t take that long to lose and I was quite thrilled. KNow the bad news. I’ve gained more than 1/2 the weight back since i’ve been off. I guess it’s time to get back on but does this mean I always have to be on a diet? Why can’t I have a naturally fast metabolism? Bummer.

The South Beach diet is all that and then some. I actually read the book but I’ve had friends who’ve tried it online. The book worked well for me and my friends who needed extra motivation and support (that I guess is provided online) worked well for them too.

Just a warning…the first week or two is tough. No carbs, no fruit, no veggies. Tough diet but in the end you’ll lose the weight and it’s a short term sacrifice for long term gains.

No carb and low carb diets don’t work. You will lose the weight and then gain it all back. Don’t settle for fad diet and quick weight loss scams. Eat healthy, exercise, and have a positive mindset. You don’t need the South Beach diet.

If anything, I’d give Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem a shot. They’re both similarly priced and provide you with foods that you should eat so cheating is harder. South beach diet won’t work in the long-run like Eugene said. Sorry, but I’ve been there and done that.

if you want to lose weight within a week or two then go ahead and do South Beach. but if you want to keep the weight off for months, years, and maybe even forever then I’d try Jenny or Nutrisystem.

South Beach diet will not work unless you can go no or low carb for the rest of your life.

South Beach Diet? Wasn’t that a fad diet from the 1990′s? Get with the times and try something new. Those diet delivery plans are all the rage now. I did the Zone Diet Chef’s Delivery thing. Expensive as heck. I think it was $1,000 per month but hey it worked.

I can’t afford to pay that much each month so i transitioned off to Medifast. They deliver food to me and it’s almost as good as the Zone Chef Delivery program. Almost but not quite. The Zone Chef Delivery is yummy!

Got something to say?
