Jerry O’Connell’s High Protein Diet

Featured in US Weekly: Jerry O’Connell is the chubby kid we all remember from Stand By Me. Since then, O’Connell has turned into a 6-foot-3, 190 pound long lean machine at age 34. Admitting to having a problem with peanut M&M’s in the past, he now sticks to a high protein diet to stay trim. Weight-lifting is not his thing, so he stays in shape with 40 minute runs four days a week and 30 minute swims twice a week. He also enjoys tandem bike rides with wife, Rebecca Romijn.

Editor’s Comment: A lot of people can relate to O’Connell, being the kid that got picked on for being overweight. It’s a great motivator to get yourself in shape. O’Connell is smart to stick to a workout regimen that he enjoys doing… weightlifting makes him bored. If you enjoy your workout routine, you’re not counting the minutes until it’s over. A high-protein diet is a good source of energy and can be burned off quickly.
