Celebrity Mom’s Weight Loss Secrets
The time it takes for a celebrity mom to go from carrying baby weight to being in shape for the red carpet happens almost instantly based on pictures we see of them. So what is their secret? How come normal moms can’t make the change so seamlessly and quickly? Just because you’re not a celebrity mom doesn’t mean that you don’t want to be in your pre-baby shape as soon as possible either. So what is their secret?
Most doctors will tell you that you should focus on taking care of yourself and your baby instead of wanting to get back in shape as soon as possible. But if you want to get in shape again, here are some methods and tricks that might work for you that celebrities use.
Motivation: Celebrities already have an advantage in terms of having the help they’ll need to take care of the daily stuff. But the main motivation for celebrity moms to slim down fast is that they know they’ll be in the public eye. So to keep their image, they are motivated to slim down fast.
So how can you use this tip? Find something that motivates you and instead of setting a deadline, pick a diet and/or exercise that you are comfortable doing and can continue doing. Don’t push yourself too hard at first or you’ll burn out.
Breast Feeding: Breastfeeding while beneficial to your baby can be very helpful in helping you lose weight. Breastfeeding can help women burn an extra 500-600 calories a day. According to La Leche Legaue, breastfeeding moms tend to lose more weight when their babies are 3 to 6 month old than formula-feeding moms who consume fewer calories. But as with everything, it might not work and might work even better for you.
Dr. Jennifer Wider, author of The New Mom’s Survival Guide (due out in July), suggests waiting at least two months after delivery to start a new diet, which shouldn’t dip below 1,800 calories a day. That should give your body a chance to build up a steady milk supply. Just make sure you stay hydrated and eat foods high in nutrients such as fruits and vegetables, as well as low-fat dairy products, like cheese and milk, to stave off a loss in skeletal calcium.
Get A Head Start
Because of motivation (see above), most celebrity moms get a head start on losing weight by doing moderate exercises during their pregnancy. It helps make getting back in shape much easier after the pregnancy and can help labor/delivery easier also! Celebrity trainer Harold Palacios, likes to recommend his clients to start working out before they conceive. This way when the baby comes, new moms can ease into their routines much easier than having to start anew.
But if you’re having trouble losing weight, don’t despair. Not all celebrities lose the weight so fast. Jennifer Garner said she was always hearing rumors that she was pregnant because her stomach wasn’t as flat as it used to be.
