Sticking To Your Diet

Face it, dieting is not an easy thing to do. You have to be dedicated to your goals or else you’ll find yourself getting distracted and unmotivated. Dieting is not going to come to you. You’ll need to work at it and yes, you can do it!

You’ll need every little bit of help in your weight loss goals, so here are a few hints and tips to help you along your way.

1. Enjoy What You Eat:
If you’re on diet food, it definitely isn’t as tasty as what you’re used to eating. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun! Just because the food looks boring and doesn’t taste as good, you can make sure you make it as attractive as possible. Put the food on a nice plate and use your nicer utensils and make it as enjoyable as possible. Add slices of fruits and vegetables to your dish to make it look more fuller and have fun (pretend you’re a chef at an expensive restaurant and give it a flair!)

2. It’s Not All About The Pounds:
The #1 thing people look for is “how much weight did I lose?”. But there are other ways of measuring how the diet is working for you. You’ll start to notice you’ll have more energy than before. You’ll notice that you’re more confident about yourself. You’ll notice that the jeans that used to be tight are now starting to fit better. Any bits of motivation outside of the weight scale is important also!

3. Win the War, Not The Battle:
Remember, losing weight is not going to happen overnight. Weighing yourself everything and then getting worked up if your weight fluctuates is not a good habit to pick up. Your weight loss will fluctuate throughout the entire dieting period. Some days you’ll see a lower weight and some days you’ll see a higher one. The trick is to not worry about the daily weights but if you’re making positive progress to your weight loss goals.

4. Reward Yourself:
You might set yourself a weight loss goal of 5lbs, 10lbs, 20lbs or more. Reward yourself for hitting smaller weight loss goals such as “I’ll treat myself to something when I lose 5lbs” if your goal was to lose 20lbs. You’ll find yourself motivated and it’s easier to imagine losing 5lbs than 20lbs and soon 5lbs here, and 5lbs there will start to add up!

Workout Buddies:
There are going to be days that you just don’t want to work out. That’s what your workout buddy is for! On the days you don’t want to go, they’ll make sure you go and vice versa. Just remember once you are there, to make the most out of it. Don’t waste your time at the gym!

We hope these tips help you a bit today and good luck with your weight loss! If you need suggestions on what diets to chose, make sure to read our reviews above to find the best diet for you!

I completely agree whole heartedly with this article. You can’t lose weight without diet and exercise and it’s a matter of discipline and commitment. C’mon, let’s be real everyone. You can totally do it. All you guys need to do is commit to it. Whether it’s 10, 20, or even 100 pounds it’s all within your mindset. I lost 45 pounds. It was dang hard but I did it and I’m so happy that I went through with it. So is my family. That’s the best part.

Yep, just stick to what works for you. Don’t neglect the exercise component. This will not only help you lose weight but will keep you healthier. I know most people want to lost weight because they want to look better but don’t forget that diet and exercise is good for your health too.

Got something to say?
