Eat Vegetables and Becomes Smarter
So your parents were right all along. It turns out that eating your vegetables can result in a higher IQ. Studies show that a vegetarian diet, with it already being healthy for you, can result in you being smarter than other people your age.
BBC news reported that researchers did a study that showed those who were vegetarians by the age of 30 had 5 extra IQ points on average at the age of 10.
Of note are the statements of the lead researcher Catherine Gale when she said: “The finding that children with greater intelligence are more likely to report being vegetarian as adults, together with the evidence on the potential benefits of a vegetarian diet on heart health, may help to explain why higher IQ in childhood or adolescence is linked with a reduced risk of coronary heart disease in adult life.”
So what’s an extra 5 IQ points? It might not mean much in the long run but it’s just another fact that parents can use to get their kids to eat more vegetables.
